About us

Formed in Jan. 2015, we are a community choir in the Stoughton area of Guildford, Surrey. Friendly, welcoming and patient, with all songs taught by ear.

Who leads it?

Our choir is led by Kim Hawthorn.

KimHollowayKim is a professional classical singer, choir leader and singing teacher based in Guildford. She is a music graduate of the University of Manchester and also holds a Postgraduate in Performance from Royal Holloway University of London. She has sung in choirs from an early age and loves bringing the uplifting experience of choir singing to her community. She incorporates a wide variety of genres in her choirs, from folk to musicals, from blues to pop and world music – something for everyone! As well as SHVCC, Kim supports a vast array of different singing students and is a Vocal Leader for Surrey Arts having worked on recent projects including Surrey Singing Picnics, Waverley Young Voices and Brooklands in Sound Community Opera. She leads multiple other adult singing groups in Surrey which all have a focus on well-being through singing.
